Students and Alumni Give Back on Alumni Day of Service

community serviceMore than 90 students and alumni gathered this past weekend for the Alumni Day of Service to volunteer to help revitalize the Jersey City community through Rebuilding Together. Rebuilding Together seeks to renovate and beautify low income housing and non-profit organizations with the help of skilled tradesmen and unskilled volunteers. Saint Peter’s provided 96 of the 409 volunteers for Rebuilding Day. Students cleaned up Arlington Park, the grounds and streets surrounding Saint Patrick’s Church and the Dr. Lena Edwards Charter School, as well as painted bathrooms in the gymnasium and part of the Trinity pre-school. “Rebuilding Together was great,” said Fadia Joseph ’97. “What a wonderful way to give back to the community. I met Doris Bresnowitz ’02 and I had a wonderful time volunteering with her. Hopefully, I will meet up with her again at other alumni events.”
