English Department Staff Member Receives Recognition for Outstanding Community Service

Barbara A. Kuzminski, administrative assistant to the English department, was nominated for the Russell Berrie Foundation‘s “Unsung Hero” award and received a certificate of appreciation on on Friday, May 1. She was recognized for her contributions and selfless acts in her quest to increase registered organ and tissue donors and lower the transplant wait list numbers in the U.S. Kuzminski has been promoting organ and tissue donations and volunteering through the NJ Sharing Network in honor of her 20-month-old grandson, Jonathon Paul Kuzminski, who passed away on May 13, 2011. Jonathon was able to save two children’s lives through organ donation.
