Professor Attends White House Event Celebrating Filipino American History Month

Journalism professor, Ernabel Demillo joined 150 influential Filipino American leaders in education, social work, entertainment and business to celebrate Filipino American History Month at the White House on October 24. The program featured discussions with administration officials on key issues of interest to the Filipino American community including education, immigration, the plight of Filipino veterans and mental health; as well as performances by distinguished Filipino American artists. Professor Demillo spoke on a panel, “Community, Culture & Collective Action,” a discussion of local activities around the country to celebrate culture, community and history.
