Student Wins First Place Award at Metropolitan Association of College and University Biologists

Recently, Monique Salmon ’14, a research student of Biology Professor Jill E. Callahan, Ph.D., was awarded first place in the category of Microbiology for her poster titled, The Effects of Salvadora Persica (Miswak) on Bio-film Formation in Cariogenic Species Streptococcus Mutans at the Metropolitan Association of College and University Biologists conference held at Montclair State University. This year, the theme of the conference was life in extreme environments. Also in attendance were Maria Agapito, Ph.D., assistant professor of biology, and her students.
