Celebrate Black History Month: New Exhibition at the Fine Arts Gallery

New Exhibit to Open at the Fine Arts Gallery: African Street Scenes, paintings of Ibrahima “Ibou” Ndoye, will be on display in the Fine Arts Gallery on the 5th floor of the Mac Mahon Student Center today through March 24. An opening reception as part of JC Fridays is on March 3 in the Fine Arts Gallery from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Born in West Africa’s most progressive capital city, Dakar, Senegal, glass-painting artist, Ibou has combined modernism and traditionalism to create a style unique to himself. Regularly surrounded by colorful African textiles and fabrics growing up, it is not surprising that Ibou says he “socialized with art and cohabited with colors” from a young age.
